Hi - does anybody please have a contact for someone in Lancashire who can repair boat covers? We bought a Sealine F37 last year and some new covers were made for the boat at the time as part of the deal. However, they were made badly & not properly reinforced & now the press studs are ripping through the fabric. I have had quotes for new covers (Sealine & Shepherds) & want to make a comparison for how much it would be to repair. I tried to contact Fleetwood Coast Sailmaking Co. who can not quote at the moment as they are making redundancies. Anyone any suggestions - would be very greatful - thanks.

Hi Izzy
try asking at your marina or the nearest one to you for someone who does repairs, or send a fax to the company laying off peeps saying is anyone going out on there own and wants a job, I know a lot of peeps doing this at the mo. but not in your area.

How close to Atherton are you ??. There is a place on the corner of Gloucester St. and Bolton Rd. (Next door to Lifting Gear Hire Ltd). Don't live in that area anymore but walked by their place at Xmas when visiting family and they are trading. Will endeavour to get name/number for you tomorrow.

If it's only press stud repacement. Thort all boat owners would have the kit. All come in a little packet for a quid or two. I'm forever replacing the things. Quite thereputic. Dont tell Debs. I just mended my brand new henry loyd jacket. Burn hole with a press stud. Shsssshhhssshhhhhhhhsssssssss! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Have you tried the Canvas Man in Otley/Leeds, I know he does Windermere but not sure where you are based. I think his number is 01943 851444

From looking at some of the narrow boat covers around here, the cover makers must still be in the seventeeth century. You'd be better orf sewing carier bags together. Make sure you look at there work!!
