1/ No mooring or berthing then
2/ off-sett holidays that you would have had to pay for, x family numbers
Both are big variables, I was just playing numbers....
It still came out as the same figures![]()
I am puzzled by your accounting approach. Why do you want to do this?
I was pricing up the cost savings of the gear I do not have. To prioritise the bits I want.
Oddly considering I am not saving as much as I thought, then I have tried the same with time for projected maintainence. On that one I save more than a few days
As for doing without take the missing outboard (oversight) mentioned in this thread.
Presently I am on river mooring, I do have an outboard and use it sometimes. Although other times I enjoy the row, with no lifting or carrying it can be easier. Do I need it? when it dies will I replace it? If I had a marina berth I definitely not bother, in a year I would spend more time maintaining it than using it. As it is I would go for a whilst without and see.
I agree 15 years might be a long in life for sails, although how long a sail lasts is a whole different topic...
The numbers are shocking. Although my boat ain't going on the market yet..
I still recon pound for pound its cheaper than being a keen football supporter...
