All, I am based at Shamrock Quay and have had enough of cleaning before and after every trip... Anyone recommend a reliable and sensibly priced boat cleaner in the area?

Regards

Nick

HA HA HA HA :)

I wish.... Please don't tell me some partners/wives actually contribute to boat maintenance? Mine does a little when we are out, but the rest is all mine!

It's a false economy though, for the little contribution I get, the investment is high!

If you wish to contribute to her running costs (mrs, not boat!) then I am sure we can strike a deal :)

Car
Clothes
Handbags
Holidays
Free boat pass for friends and family
meals out

need I say more...?

Seriously though. My partner does all the cleaning inside the cabin or the cockpit and I do all the exterior washing and or polishing and of course any repairs / maintenance. Seems to work ok.

Have a look in the marina office for contact details for local cleaning services, or ask around other berth holders.

I get mine boat cleaned / valet every other week. I have quite a young family (14mth old) so need everything possible to make life easy and enjoyable.

I actually enjy cleaning the boat, its just too much like hard work with him on board. was either get someone to clean it or sell up. Took the cleaning option. Given the costs of running the boat berth/fuel/insurance/carry etc etc then teh cost for cleaning is very reasonable.

With the greatest respect I cant beleive that you have someone clean your boat every other week. Apart from the costs involved, which for me would be reason enough not to, I actually enjoy cleaning my boat I find it theraputic in a way. Having said that I suppose it depends how big your boat is, a mornings therapy for me may well equate to a full day or more for your size of boat. Still each to there own and at least you are helping the economy and giving employment to the cleaning company.

you cant disagree given your sign on name surely, or do you nit live up to what you preach?

The trouble is that I agree with you and your comments. I too used to enjoy cleaning the boat and when I am down on my own or with friends I still do, but with a 1 yr old screaming in the background it becomes a chore. As i said, this way I still enjoy using the boat and getting out for the weekends.

We just had the local Chemdry man in to freshen up the interior who did a reasonable job. Let me know if you need the number.
