Can anyone recommend a boat cleaning service in the Chichester area?

Cleaning the boat is a real chore, I am happy to pass it on to someone else!

ok the only reason i ask, is because i do car valeting, but am lookin at gettin into the boating side of valeting aswell,
and am lookin for a boat if you like to do a practice run on, just to see how results go,
i have been lookin into what waxs and polishies that work on the boats, to get best results, and the time it takes to do,

what is the length of the boat you own, if dont mind me asking?

That could be interesing:D

She is 25 foot long.

0k so a fair size but not to big to work on,

is the boat still in the water, or is it on dry land?

am not sure if i am allowed to post a link up to my car valeting website, to show levels of work, which would be the same as for doin a boat,

i would be also lookin at taken pics, of my work to show on me web site,!!!

I use Tony Stanbrook of Sail in Port services 07830298677. He does my boat and a Princess V45 on the same day. I am sure he could fit you in as well. Great job every 2 weeks and makes life so much easier.

Quite small as boats go these days. :)

It is in the water now, wont be coming out again until next summer hopefully. I had the sides professionally polished a couple of months ago but the topsides haven't been done yet.

I think a link to your site should be okay.

A bloke quoted me £500 to polish my boat! Not the Blue hull, just the bits above a gunwhale.
BushBaby is a 28ft sports cruiser - I declined the offer as Inthoughtit a little pricey!
Was it?

It depends what you mean by 'polish' it is such a broad term, £500 may have been an absolute bargain or money down the drain depending on what was needed and what would have been performed.

What is really needed to make cleaning less of a chore is a condition only kept by a wise few, sorry but it's true.
The methods are on the forum for all to see, but they are scattered around here and there.

It should be a pleasure shouldn't it? your own boat, washing it down as the sun sets, watching the water bead high and roll off the surface.

Jabster, if you like cars... you will love boats! :)
You have to think of some safety issues, insurance, far, far different techniques / products / equip required over car detailing and many of the same.
I am sure Ricky will see you in some practice and the lay of the land so to speak.

Thanks for that, i do miss the boating world,
I used 2 go sailing a lot when i was younger with mum & dad, but due to me dad passing away very suddenly ive not been on a boat since, & like most things at the mo cant affaid to buy me own boat unless me nunbers come up on the lotto, lol

& yes i passion for cars to, not sure how you guessed this tho, lol,
To me its bout given the wow facter to the persons pride & joy, as how i would want it if it was mine, (if that makes sense)

Jabster,

you can practice on mine if you wish: just under 40 foot, kept on the water in Southampton. Even though you're practising, as a forumite, I won't even charge you. ;)

There are two types of clean as Marine Reflections points out by saying 500 quid could have been a bargain price. My mate paid for the full 'valet' from the eastern europeans for his VW T5

Now for 15 to 25 quid i guess its clean, but i would pay 15 quid for them not to clean my truck. I didnt think the word valeting was still used, detailing seems to be the norm these days:confused:

I can do a wash down and wax for as cheap as the next man, but if you want a full gelcoat correction that will cost in skill and time, its a case of you get what you pay for. On an 18' boat just to do the hull i doubt i would charge less than 300 quid for the full works.

Posted a million times before i know, but it shows what a proper correction is about.

As in anything to do with paint of gel coat, prep is key to a glass like finish, and to keep the boat looking well below its actual age. the white specs are actually the metalic fleck.
