I have just used a fantastic product for cleaning GRP boats. My boat has been on its mooring since last September and has not been touched ,I had it out of the water only last week, to say it was dirty was an understatement. Someone recomended a product called "Starbrite hull cleaner". I put it on neat, left it for 2/3 mins and hosed it off , the results were amazing, especially from the waterline where you get a yellow colour forming. It tends to leave a dull finish behind so its best to give it a polish of marine wax . Its not cheap at around £25 for 5 ltrs ( I used nearly all of it on a 35' boat) At last a product that does what it says it does.

I used the same stuff earlier this year and I would echo your comments. Finished off with a dose of 3M polish and what a result ......just the pong and the price I don't like.

I've used it for ages, brilliant stuff. All to do with the oxalic acid apparently. You can buy it from the chemists, but then you have to mix it with something and its nasty stuff!
Was in Chas Newens yesterday and recommended it to another chap in there, hope he has the same view.

Confucious he say: Man who leaves own boat unattended on moring for seven months of winter deserves crap, corrosion and creepy-crawlies!

No point in cleaning it if its not being used , would only have do it all over again and at £25 per cleaning session ,I rest my case.
