Boat Checks in Ocean Village

Gary - if you're offering, pop over to PS will you and chuck another line on? Think I've only got the one at the moment ;-)

You know where the beer fridge is as recompense...

M

No need to tell me where the boat is berthed in PS, I can sniff a full beer fridge out from the adjacent marina ;)

I'm holding out for being able to berth Bizzy Bee between the both of you... beer fridge to the port, beer fridge to the starboard... utter bliss lols :)

My best guess is right next to us or immediately behind. Marina phoned and objection logged! :p
;)

I must admit we didn't twig when they rang a gave us the berth number, it was only after we walked out to the berth today did we realise that we are going to be neighbours. We are moving into number 48.

Don't blame you for ringing the marina, I wouldn't want a right grumpy git like me berthing next door.

And to make it worse, the first time you see Kerry after she has just got up and is sitting in our cockpit drinking her first coffee of the day, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you thought Frodo's grandma had just moved in next door! I am married to her but it still scares the shoite out of me........

So, you lot are scaring me now. Humu Humu have never wandered off on her own before now. Should I be worried? I could do the whole 2 hr round trip tomorrow I suppose but I'm not sure I'd do anything different? Apart from work out my UK boating bubble has been burst!

I'm tellin' lol. I'm soooo tellin'! Na...it'll be good to have you both there tbh especially if it reduces the oGaryo risk!! ;) Anyway, you and Chris can be grumpy gits together while Kerry & I sit and laugh at you both :D

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... me thinks this could be VERY advantageous ..... Lisilou, P4Paul and possibly OgaryO all within touching distance!!!!!.......... the thought of all those "scrounged" cups of tea and the LIMITLESS supply of sweeties all without starting the engine has once TM is moored on a visitors berth is making me go all "squidgy" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will do Garold. Wind's getting up now and blowing through the marina but not too bad for us as you say, biggest risk is debris blowing off the building site

Thanks.

I never considered blown debris from the sites.

As if the constant cement dust wasn't enough!

Cheers

To reassure anyone berthed in Swanwick, the Swanwick marina team are doing a great job of regularly checking the boats and my understanding is that they have increased the number of patrols for the next couple of days.

If you want to know what it is like in Southampton, you can get a live wind reading and a historical graph here.

The same can be said for Ocean Village, seen them walking the pontoons this morning and speaking to Rogerio last night, they have extra staff on this weekend.

Garold, your boat looks fine buddy

Extra patrols at Sparkes too.
Not too worried about FP as it's predicted SWesterly - she's tied up like someone out of a recent popular novel and is going no-where.

Am checking boats in East Cowes Marina for a couple of forum members
Tim

Good man Tim! If you happen to be down there later and could wander to the end of "our" pontoon to check on the boat previously known as Spotty Dog (and still labelled as such!) that would be much appreciated. We left her tied up fairly well I think and with plenty of fendering, but paranoia has a way of getting to one... I'll owe you one in the lifeboat when we're down next!
