Boat carpet

I have just fitted exterior grade exhibition carpet to my cockpit areas. Waterproof and UV resistant and really cheap to buy. Looks great.
I've tried uploading some photos but the system doesn't like it.

We put down Flotex which has worked well in a sort of random pattern that doesn't show up any stains or bits. It's expensive stuff so the alternative is buy cheap and chuck when worn.

In the early nineties I renewed my cabin sole with Flotex. It is now 2020. I might think about renewal at the end of the decade, just to change the scenery a bit. Again with Flotex. Expensive, but what the hell, I know from nearly 30yrs experience that it is the best. To clean it (sole panels are removable), remove any stains with the appropriate solvent--acetone,kerosene,etc,etc--then liberally scrub with Jiff, pressure spray with water, dry and replace. It's 1993 again!

Thanks for that

John Alison recommended bathroom carpet too but I can't see where they sell it in Australia (at least not by that name)

Ha Ha! A little bit more searching........

Why do British bathrooms have carpet?
British people love a bit of carpet. It's probably because their houses tend to be a bit chilly. The former landlord of one of our Country Managers also said that it decreases the humidity. Fortunately, bathroom carpets have become unfashionable in recent years.Apr 27, 2016
