Boat Canopy seen in Malta

I saw loads of small fishing boats with a simple canopy arrangement of a hoop that slips into a socket either side of the boat around the midships section and a simple pole going to the front deck. Over this they had put a blue tarp that seemed to be fitted to the boat with elastic cord. The whole assembly looked simple to make and very effective. I have an open 18ft fishing boat and have been looking for a cuddy or pram hood to keep the rain off me. I was delighted to see there is a simple answer in use by hundreds of maltese fishermen.

By the way I took photos of how they had these canopies installed if anyone wants the details.
