All the survey kit gone and all the installed stuff trashed by cutting all the wires. So that's that. Loads of stuff gone as well. Two yachts, two motor boats. The other motor boat has (had) a patio door and that is trashed + all the movable kit stolen.

Someone needed a bigger boat for the stuff taken.

If you can, list the stuff missing. We can all keep an eye out. Bloody scumbags

Feel for you. Bastards.

An ecletic list but there is a lot from others. I lost an ADEC canister 4 person life raft, The Onwa KCOMBO7+, Standard Horizon CP 300i and Humminbird 797ic2. Of course the transducers are still here but are junked by dint of the wires cut. Greenkat 7x50 binoculars in leather case, Gill full wet weather breathable jacket and over trousers (can't find the model/style at the moment). I think the label will have my name 'Roger' thereon. Comprehensive tools in both a large red plastic box and bespoke things like socket set and screwdriver set. In the large plastic box is quite an old collection of loose sockets that are both imperial and metre and 1/4 inch drive and 1/2 inch. That including some vintage King Dick sockets, bars and rachet bars. Loads of stuff in the tool box, pretty much we all need on a boat. I planned, once ashore, to remove the atomisers (aka injectors) but now first I have to go and buy some spanners! Imperial too! Oh, a full unused Propane 6kg bottle.

The neighbouring boat has lost his rubber dubby, ouboard, radar, plotter etc. All the instruments cabling were cut an inch behind the plugs.

I will have to remake the instrument panel. Part of that had been smashed to remove the Onwa. The other two instruments were on a separate fascia and it got taken as a unit. Is it worth replacing. They can come back again once they have thought that the insurance has paid out.

On the shelf above the cooker and sink I have some plastic containers - tea, coffee, sugar, etc. And beside those there is an obvious space that never used to be there. I have no idea what was taken. I have tried to contextually reinstate myself but it ain't working!

Now here is the conumdrum: is it worth locking up. Fortunately damage to the door is limited to the lock, so is easy and quite cheap to solve. But to replace a patio style door of the neighbouring boat - ugh. If washboards on the yachts had been attacked by a jemmy?..... The really annoying thing, the really, really annoying thing was that I was about, on the last occasion, to take home the plotter and FF. But I was planned to be lifted in 4 days time so I thought 'not worth it'. And then the schedule went dans the pan when the last tractor from the yard broke. And so she has been afloat 3 weeks longer. My mistake I suppose.

So sorry to hear this Roger.

I know it’s slightly different and we usually had someone aboard but clients used to get upset that it was costing more in a marina that was gated than in the local quayside.

How long does it cost to recover £kkkk as opposed to an extra £20/30 a night?

Watch eBay and the likes. When my RIB was stolen I actually tracked it down through the classified ads but neither the police or insurance seemed to have any interest. I wanted to buy it back as I’d put a lot of work into it.

Really sorry to hear that - I've always found your survey info really useful, and hope you can get your stuff replaced by insurance. And the b****** get caught.

This is near Mersea? I am so sorry for you. I hate about losing vintage tools, as their quality is hard to match or replace.

Who could it be and what sort of boat would they need? I'd guess they'd be smart enough to turn off any identifying signals.

Very bad news and a terrible experience ; where was this theft and damage caused ? would be handy to know and be aware

Might be worth a call or email to local fishing and dive clubs.

Ive vague memory of Olex but as it’s open source or was I’m not sure how valuable it is financially unless you didn’t share the data.

Let the local fishermen association know too as that info is most use to them.

Darn right it is. My insurance more or less says for contents theft there's no payout unless damage is done upon entry.
So sorry to hear of this, especially after all the work you put in with this gear. Bloody galling.
