We are currently on our holiday cruise to Abingdon, and apart from a couple of short 1 hour cruises prior to this, it’s our first time on the boat all year. It appears that after 2 days, we have awoke to find our domestic batteries completely dead! I suspect they are past their lifetime as I think we have had them 3 maybe 4 years. Currently about to leave Wallingford for Days lock tonight, but then we will be on the lock island at Abingdon for 3 days (thankfully on the electric hook up).
Anyone know a company or marine electrician that can come and supply and fit two domestic batteries in that area. Failing that I suspect we can pull into Sheridan Marina on the way back down

Is it worth calling into BENSON??

Could do I suppose, I just assumed they were about hire company these days and didn’t offer any services.
I will give them a call
Yeah but presumably they have contacts on the phone that can supply batteries next day for their fleet. You may be able to buy via them?

ThamesS23, OT, but what is your impression with the overnight moorings? Many boats out, or are some just sitting long term on the various spots? Hope to start next Thursday up to Abingdon and back.

Good to hear about your succcessful battery hunt. Very sorry that we couldn’t say our farewells this morning- didn’t want to disturb you
All the best and safe journey back. See you next year at our favourite moorings!???
