I got a phone call this afternoon saying my boat had broke it`s mooring and was washed up on the far bank near Hullbridge.
I rowed across to her but the tide was already dropping and she was stuck fast on the bank.
I am now trying to decide if I should try and refloat her on the next tide, about 02-30 or wait til tomorrow afternoon. I don`t fancy rowing across the Crouch in the dark if it is going to be as windy as it was today. However as she is stuck fast and there is a predicted tidal surge on the next tide it might be my last chance to refloat her for a long time as tides start dropping from Saturday. I think I`ll decide about 01-00 if the wind has dropped.
The annoying thing is I was going to take her out last week but couldn,t get the time---=--bugger bugger bugger!

I am sorry to hear that. I can recall a similar phone call many years ago, but I was lucky at the time and the yard managed to retrieve her with no damage. Hope you manage to get her off as the next big tide might be in another 40 years... Would offer to help, but I am too far away.

Contact your insurance company. It's not worth risking your life for. If they are a reputable company, they will arrange/let you arrange recovery by professionals.

oh no, having been there just a fee weeks ago I know just how you feel. fortunately by the time we found out about it, she'd already been recovered by the yard staff

go careful and good luck
