At the moment we have a standard scafolding plank to get on and off our boat in the South of France.
My wife does not like this much and would like me to build somethink a bit better
Have considered converting a loft ladder and using some marine ply on it . To produce a non slip surface has anyone got any advice on what to paint / stick on
Any other option for a boarding method would be welcome.

Thanks

our system works very well. i made up a grp panel with stiffening ribs, then stuck on strips of teak cross-wise at about 8" intervals. the plank pivots at the inboard end and is suspended just above the quay with a halliard and a couple of feet of strong bungy. when you step on it the end of the board comes down onto the jetty then springs back afterwards to avoid chafe. we haul up the halliard at night to keep out the local wildlife.

youngmans make light and very strong working platforms , would be ideal for a boarding plank , youll find them at most builders yards .
