Board load times: It\'s the middle of the night

Broadband : 1 minute 3 seconds.

V94: 2 minutes 12 seconds

I'm saying nothing except that it's worse by day... but its no problem, here's a place difficult to access when most other BB's are accessible within a few seconds.

Broadband, 12,000 plus miles away, our middle of the day, your middle of the night, loads in a couple of seconds.

I'm using broadband from home and it's 0920 in Holland. Speed is perfectly
ok, loading in seconds. Maybe your own problem?

Re: Ditto Vyv and Mainly. Speed test.

I just tried it, first time it read 31kbs then I hit backspace and let it run the test, this time it read 24kbs so which is correct

right clicking on my connection icon, My status reads 45kbs...!!!

I think Nige's problem is too many cookies or he's got lots of kids in the Reading area that are out to fxxk him up /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

You might want to try using a program which seeks out unauthorised "snoopers", and tracking sofware. I've known them to severely interfere with loading of certain web sites.

Thanks, Everyone for the advice.

It was part hardware failure, part a dirty connection and part some software that had invaded my system (I suppose it was a virus) Whatever it was, it was called 'amorfbz.exe' and had got round Norton.

It took a computer engineer about 3 hours to find out what was happening, fix it and replace a board .... and now we're whizzing along again.

I see it\'s fixed...

...but for the record recent independent tests of ybw.com currently rate typical page performance as 'very fast' and in the top 7 percentile of Internet sites tested (alexa.com). Not standing on laurels but you should generally find most pages loading quickly.
