Hi all

Taken the engine out of Ty-Phoo - not a moment too soon. CLeaning up the neglected bits. Polar 1500 Heat exchanger. Should the pipe matix simply slide out of the outer shell? Is this pic showing lots of gummed up yick that should be scraped away to allow removal of the matrix?

Thanks for the replies all. I guesses it was just crud, so with a drill bit and a skewer and lot of soaking I managed to get the matrix out. Sacrificed a repaired innertube to pressure test. No air escaping, I guess that will leak easier than water, so I hope that the mmatrix is therefore sound.
