An interesting take on crossing oceans ....

At the end of the day, the ability of a boat to cross an ocean comes down to the owners mindset, skills, and knowledge so instead of talking about blue water sailboats, I wish we talked about blue water mindsets and instead discussed seamanship, preparation, equipment and risk-management because this is how you will get a safe and comfortable passage, not by buying a particular type of boat.

Have they actually crossed an ocean now
Twice I think, yes. Hard to tell as the videos are pretty sporadic recently but I think they completed their second crossing. Not sure I'd hold them up as great examples of ocean sailors, but they certainly seem to manage OK and I couldn't really fault them.
Personally I'd look at Uma for inspiration on a blue water mindset, or possibly Delos although Delos has the advantage of size and money which makes the whole thing easier. What Uma continue to achieve with their smallish, old, and previously knackered boat amazes me, as does their attitude to life, boats and maintenance in general.

I'm with you on that, though having a channel with 366K subscribers does help to give them a budget - and sponsorship - that goes way beyond my budget. Jealous? of course I'm jealous, but good luck to 'em

Not as much as you'd probably think, and they started their journey with zero subscribers or sponsorship. Oceanvolt give them sponsorship because of their advocacy for electric propulsion which I don't think is unjustified given they spent 5 years actually sailing with electric using an old motor from a forklift. You never know, if you set sail today and record your adventures you might get to their level. Be warned though, it's probably 80 hours a week for both of them to create that content and that's on top of their boat maintenance and sailing!

i doubt that it is 12 hours a day 7d ays a week tho ,, that does not leave any time for anything else other than sleeping . maybe like some others ( i believe ) they pass it all over to an editing team ,, there more recent stuff from Norway is good .
