So what a great ten weeks we have had here on the south coast. Due to family stuff I've not been able to get much boat time so far this but I've got next week booked for a full week away! All this great weather I've been running about dog sitting and airport runs for family etc taking away almost all my weekends...but now finally I've got some time for me!

And yes of course the weather is going downhill and looks like it will ruin my plans! I want to head to Salcombe but with F5 W or SW for next week on the way that's the end of that. Sure the boat can do it but the other half cannot!

I've spent a bloody fortune getting the boat ready in time. So hey ho the British strikes again.

Think I'll sell the bloody thing as getting fed up going to the same places again and again.

Saturday is looking quite nasty, but seems to improve on Sunday, and cross fingers for the next few days. I am sure you will get out.

Why not take the boat and meet her there, gives you a trip and no discomfort for swmbo. And if she drives, gives you options to do other things when there.

So if the forecast is accurate its too windy as far as next Tuesday...looks like f4 west all week!!!!

Other half is already looking at a beach holiday in the med....to which i won't be going. Can't stand sitting on a beach in neat little rows!

F4 would be doable with wind and tide together wouldn't it? I'm assuming Lyme Bay is the issue - couldn't you take the longer in shore route where it'll be calmer to give your other half an easier time. Apologies if 'sucking eggs' offends - this is not my intention.

Hey no worries..i welcome the comments.

I guess the point here is yes i could do the trip but whats the point if it slamming into waves all the way? This boaty thing is supposed to be fun i think?

I’ve done wind with tide on a foul tide over Lyme Bay in a F4/5 in a 26ft Mobo and it was all good. Nothing too slammy

Blimey you were brave! Don't understand what the foul tide bit was, Do you mean you were running with the wind and tide?

Foul is running against the tide. But the wind was also running with the tide. Basically against the elements and no wind against tide. It was a strange run as the wave period was massive as in no swell, so all in all it was a good passage.

Think I am with you now,So there was no leading edge on the waves to battle against.

So thats my trip down the pan! Wait all year for a long week away and now the other half won't go.

She gets scared and seasick in a F4..she has looked at the forecast and now refuses to go...so she will take her son to spain for a week and sit on the beach like a bloody sardine with all the other idiots!

Yes i am rather peed off to say the least!!!!
