Went for a bike ride on the national cycle route along the canal last night when I spotted this old lady using an umbrella to sail her coracle.

As she was also using the oar should she not be also displaying a motoring cone?

Surely, that was a meeting of the Nursery Rhyme Enactment Society.
It doesn't just spring to mind which rhyme.

Nice to see you venturing out of MB corner.

That's not propelling machinery, it's a steering oar. So she's a sailing vessel, and doesn't need a cone.

I was assuming that she had a tender to get her ashore.

The preferred tender for a coracle is an upturned umbrella ....

When I saw her she was using the oar as propelling machinery.

Very determined woman and as she was four miles from the nearest town and there were no canal boats parked within a mile, she had some work to do in the calmer section in the foreground.

She is a sailing Vessel

My thoughts exactly.....Typical Bl88dy Stinkpotter who can t tell a spinaker from a Volvo....

Its obvious she is using the Historic welsh mastless spinaker system complete with pintless rudder!!!!!

I agree.....no need for a cone either way up and as less than 7 metres might even get away with a candle in a jam jar as all round white. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
