Replacement wooden blocks are expensive. If the wood is still roughly in one piece, scrape them down and fill the cracks with epoxy. Then you can have hours of fun revarnishing - theyre not designed to spend the winter outside!

If you are a little bit handy with woodworking they are actually quite easy to make. Start with a rectangular block of wood, drill two large holes to mark the extremities of the slot, chisel out the wood in between, carry on shaping .

The cheapest I could find where from Classic Marine believe it or not. They do a range of Elm ones that are not varnished yetwith nylon sheaves. Around £30 for a block with becket IIRC. The great advantage with these is that you can just drop them in a tub of oil for a week or so and forget about varnishing them.

John at tradboats does a lovely line in wooden blocks, cheaper than classic marine and IMHO better quality.
