Blocked electric vacume toilet

If it's a VacuFlush system like the one I had I'd be a bit concerned about sucking the check valves inside out.
When I had a blockage - and it was the only one I ever had, it involved a guest who had fish tacos and a lot of beer the night before and had no concept of paper conservation - the eventual solution involved a rubber glove and a hand probing the rubber seal and flush ball.
Apart from that one incident it was by miles the best toilet system I've ever had on a boat. It ran off the fresh water system, never smelled and didn't involve pumping and switching valves. Of course, it was on on my Grand Banks 32, my diversion to the dark side, and would have been highly unsuitable for my low tech sailboats on which we travelled far and wide.
I digress - spare the plunger, get the glove on.

WHile loading your car.....Stop on the way at Tesco or Asda and get six rolls of the cheapest loo paper...Ie NOT Andrex. Promise SWIMBO she cleans the vacuflush next time if she objects to the grade /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I don t mean get izal but get the single thickness tissue with no added lotions etc and blockages should be a thing of the past as this paper disintergrates easily. This can be bought from marine toilet suppliers but they triple tha cost and call it marine grade.

Boat fully stocked with marine grade lol, but will take the tip in future. Toilet is OK at the moment but taking some kids to the airshow tomorrow & they always seem to manage to block the bog so just forward planning, more supervision needed me thinks /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I learn t a lot from The Headmistress and this tip re paper was one of them.... SHe had vacuflush toilets in Solitaire so goes without saying she recomended them.

The only other problem causing blockages can be a reduction in vacuum caused by pump problems. I seem to remember stripping the pumps on one occasion due to valve problems. I believe there were joker valves used in the pumps and at least one was broken.

I have never used anything but Andrex, the one wiv the puppies on it? It disintegrates rapidly and has never been the cause of a blockage on any of my toilets, which includes, blakes, jabsco, SL, and now leccy Jabsco, in 14 years of living aboard.

You would be the guy to know... 14 years aboard, you must have sorted most issues by now.

I think the boaters biggest problem (toilet anyway), is the guest. Sometimes you feel a bit weird 'over explaining' potential problems, because you know who will be fixing them! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
