A bit PBO but I want to paint out one of my lockers. I only every house ropes / fenders / bucket etc.... So nothing too nasty.

Is there a domestic paint anybody has used thats given the right result rather than pay £20 for 5ml of proper bilge stuff?? I wondered if garage floor paint might be suitable as I have some of this left over in grey and looks very similar to Danboline??

Not used it personally, but read that the aforementioned floor paint is ok for bilges/engine rooms etc.

hi P..... the idea is not as darft as you might think !!!...... your on the right tack BUT you want the "workshop" grade, because its far more resistent to spilt stuff and im stumped if i can remember the name....... sorry cant be more help.....

Hi Paul

we are resin flooring installers
yes any epoxy and most PU floor coating should work
but....
the smallest units you will buy will be 4.7 KG and thats enough to do
PU would be about 50 m2
or
epoxy 20 ish m2 and you have to mix the whole unit and use it...
so there is loads of wastage.
i think you might find some cheap stuff on ebay but watch the use by dates, any more than a couple of years out of date and dont use it.

Brill thanks for that dabsolute470. Sorry to ask a stupid question but with the quantities you mention would be way too much for my locker... It's got to be less than a m2, so would a normal tin of floor stuff be man enough for a bit of salt water??

yes for what your going to use it for you any coating will do.

you might want to look at PU single pack wall coating, they use them in comercial kitchens, i think they come in smaller units 2.5kg or even smaller.
pm me if your in essex and i will see if we have some old stuff around, your welcome to it for free but it will take a while to find as if we have any it will be buried in the back somewhere.
