You may have a point there.

Dangerous drivng , without due care and attention etc etc , on the Roads can lead to Prosecution and fines.

Suitably equiped vessel, Mot?

If said Idiots were hit in the Wallet, maybe that might drum some sense in.
I ,like most do not wish for compulsory Training or licencing or Whitehall interfering but sumats got to give!

I think some System that would financially hurt Tossers like this would go a long way to detering and educating at the same time.

All Public slipways on Anglesey now have , A Fee , that has to be paid for there use.
Plus proof of Third Party Insurance has to be in place.
It seems to be working.
Hopefully the Monies collected will be put to good use, for the benefit of Locals and Visitors alike.
At least the Insurance side of things is a step forward.

Slipway users I have spoken to , have no problem with the Insurance cover and are comfortable with the system.
Some groan about the launching fees though!
HM Coastgaurd could set Minimum Standards.
At least a VHF that functions, lifejackets and Flares.
Well, somehow, plonkers like this need some form of education.

I would not mind forking out £50 a Year , (dunno where that figure came from!) to the MCA, or HM Coastgaurd, especially them , if it might help their pay structure! a sort of Tax Disc arrangement.

Dunno! but summat needs to be done.
The Boating World needs to be Pro Active before The Powers that be Do get involved, cos We all know what that would bring!!!

Tax Discs, MOT's ? ok I know I know. CBT as per Motorcycling newbies?
Any other "Bright Ideas " out there? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just putting Me Tin Hat on!

"He was eventually located 21 miles to the south east of Pwllheli"

I was in Abersoch last weekend.............. it's a pity that the rest of the gobbins didn't get lost. Some of them were going through the moorings at about 20 knts.

I'm never ever going back!

Tom

PS before I get maligned.......... I started sailing there in the early 70s way before it was so popular with speedboats and water fleas.
