As your engine is running fine I don't understand what you are trying to achieve. Your wiggling of the lift pump handle with all bleed screws closed has forced most air out of the fuel system and most modernish diesel engines will self bleed any remaining air once you start to crank for a few seconds and then fire.
I'm not trying to achieve anything now as the engine is running. I absolutely had no idea more recent marine diesels are to an extent self bleeding; certainly didn't apply to my previous engine, a VP2002.
