Bleed calorifier

I have a Malo 42. I drained the coolant and also blew (mouth) the antifreeze out of the calorifier toi (big mistake). Now I only get warm water inspite of multiple efforts to bleed the calorifier. Any ideas ?
 
We have an M43. The coolant is pumped in to the calorifier circuit via the Eberspacher (hydronic) pump. So, if we need hot water from motoring then we switch the pump on at the breaker panel.
 
Thanks a couple of questions, how do I work out which is the return hose to the engine? Can I leave the header tank open or do I have to open the cap on the heat exchanger

You should be able to feel the temperature difference as the engine is warming up. The supply will be considerably warmer than the return. The supply is normally at the top of the engine, often near the thermostat housing.
No need to remove the cap but it would pay to have a couple of bungs ready to close the nozzles on the engine when you take off the hoses.

Thanks, when you say it spills out into the bilge …how is it escaping into the bilge ?
