Many people post on here with fuel prices but nothing seems to happen. Folk still pay the high prices rather than boycotting the vendor with the high price. There seems to be a spread of prices in any locality so why not boycott the expensive one(s)?

Red can still be bought from the distributors for less than 40ppl and for larger quantities around 32ppl. O.K. the reseller has to make a profit but there is a difference between making a profit and profiteering or should that be racketeering?

An admirable idea. I know you are refering to Red but how about this for racketeering..petrol £1.38 a litre at Suffolk Yacht Harbour near Harwich. Unfortunately, to boycott them would mean filling from cans (almost impossibe given rules and regs) or 20 miles south to Burnham area /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Unless, of course, someone knows any different....

Profiteering and racketeering?

I reckon, that to buy the land, build a bunded storeage, fit pumps, buy insurance, administer the VAT and pay someone to run it, you would have to mark up 10 - 20 ppl to make it pay.

That's provided you can absolutely nail the costs during the winter when you barely sell any. For a highly seasonal, or specialised site, the mark up might need to be nearer double.

Of course it would be a bit cheaper if you didn't need to be on expensive land next to popular boating locations, but hey, who wants to carry cans?
