Thanks. I've been wondering (8 years) why there is a lot of water after flushing. Something else to check

A few pumps with the lid up will empty the water out. When leaving the boat I pour a bucket of fresh water down and pump it out. This stops the smell that comes with stale seawater.

I suspect the amount of water in the loo after pumping is influenced by the amount of water in the pipework between inlet on the loo and the air bleed nipple. zx

A factor maybe but the Lavac instructions ( see link posted earlier) say:-
