Evening all. Having coughed up a fair proportion of my childrens inheritance on bits and bobs for Alexandros, I decided to 'winter' her in Blackwater Marina, at least until the end of Feb or when the money runs out.

Idea being that I can use the electricity for soldering, drilling etc plus will be able to 'play' at any state of the tide. Will also be getting her lifted and pressure washed prior to antifouling, or as I now call it 'barnacle feeding'.

Anyway, do any other forumites keep their boats there? Do I have any neighbours from here? More than happy to put the kettle on if anyone fancies a chin wag or better still tell me what I am doing wrong! Nothing like watching others make mistakes to cheer one up :-)

Blackwater Marina at Maylandsea I do believe.

I've had two boats there in my time. I fairly 'to basics' place but always found the staff very helpful and the other boaty folk very friendly.

It's quite restricted on tide as it dries there but not a bad place and quite pretty at times too if you like your wildlife etc.
