Was out yesterday near Marconi sailing club at about 4 pm and saw West Mersey lifeboat and a rescue helicopter attend a vessel at a mooring. Helicopter picked up one casualty. Didn't hear a mayday before this. Was this real or a practice?

Saturday was pretty busy with a couple of Mayday's around lunchtime, one a Contessa pounding on shingle near Orford and another grounding despite anchor out, can't remember where...

On Saturday I was on one of the Marconi moorings watching the dinghies out having fun. Then there was about 15 minutes of 24+ knots and the safety boats were kept very busy but everyone was soon sorted. Didn't have the VHF on.

Later I slipped and was making 6kts with just the 3dots showing on my furling genoa. Seemed a tad breezy!
