Plastimo Neptune 2500, several years old, a semi cylindrical bit of metal was found on the grill pan and has presumably fallen off the grill, which now doesn`t stay light! can`t quite see where it has come from and if it is possible to re attach, anyone else had this problem, is it fixable or do we face a life without toast unless alongside and can use the electric toaster!

I had the same piece fall off last year (or was it the year before) I think it is spot welded onto the gas outlet.
I think it diffuses the flame or spreads the heat more evenly not sure but my grille seems to work ok without it! Not that I use it that much.
You can see it here. http://www.sparesmarine.co.uk/websh...oker-parts-grill-spares/?brandFilter=Plastimo

Or just replace the tube and that piece comes attached.

Is it slightly springy ? as I recall some gas burners had a springy collar around the burner's venturi just after the injector and as you turned it it adjusted how much primary air got sucked it with the gas.

Brilliant, I think it is the bit that is spot welded on as I cant se any way of re attaching it. It does seem to diffuse the flame but also the flame failure device doesn`t seem to allow the gas to stay on unless I am just impatient! Thanks for the links to spares etc, very helpful, John
