Didn't even know it was on.. not that it matters I wouldn't have made it this year.. but if it's successful may be next..
The other shows being so southerly organised are a lot harder to get to than this would be.

Yes looking forward to a day out, got RYA free tickets and NEC free parking and 1 1/2 hour drive rather than 4 hours and hotel

Not sure there are any sailing yachts there by the looks of it. More of a 'watersporting' event I fear. Certainly no mention of a Guinness bar anywhere!

Sadly, I don't have time to waste.

Looking at how quiet Southampton was last year and the last few years of the London Boat Show how anybody could think that Birmingham might be attractive is beyond me.

Went to Southampton on the "busy" Sunday. Felt half empty compared to normal. Mates working there confirmed, 30% of their normal trade.

Will probably wait for a big show like Duesseldorf. The NEC is painful to get to and small.

There certainly were not the usual chandlery stands at the show, and little money was spent as there was little to immediately buy. However, the attendance for the show was only down 10% on the 2018 figures according to the organisers. As I was there with Concerto for all the show, I can certainly say it was busy during the period 11 till 3.30 most days except the weekends when it was busy all the time. The quietest day was the opening Friday, with probably only a quarter of the people there compared to the following day.

And it was a pleasure meeting you.

I was there on the last Saturday of the show. I had oodles of time to talk to all the suppliers that I needed to speak to. No long lines of people behind me eagerly wanting to talk to the people on the stand!

Bumping into people that you did not expect to see there is always fun. The chap on the RYA stand was extremely confused when I asked him about the requirements for the new RYA Boat Yoga course, until he realised that we had sailed together in the past.
