hi there,
Just wondering if anyone out there owns a BIRCHWOOD 36 that steers from the rear and from the inside?
the boat was manufactured in approx 1979.
I would like the chance to swop maintanance and improvement techniques, with anyone who aslo owns one.
thanks

<font color=blue>I wasn't aware they built a 36 then. I know they built a 35 Sportsman. (I had the misfortune to own one for 10 months) I would like to see a photo of it.

Exclusive to IRELAND LINE CRUISERS by Birchwood
Birchwood 36 6 Berth

The Birchwood 36 is a cruiser so full of desirable features, from the magnificent forward cabin with circular double bed to the equally luxurious aft stateroom with its own private toilet and shower.
Similar to the 35 but more spacious, the main wheelhouse saloon is fully enclosed and contains cocktail cabinet, adjustable seat, U-shaped seating, remote control TV as well as lots of windows for more light. The solid teak finish gives that extra grandeur to the 36. The latest to the fleet exclusive to IRELAND LINE CRUISERS by Birchwood.

Birchwood did do a stretched 33, which was either 35 or 36 feet, at the same time as the 33 Classic was in production (up to end of 70's).
It looked pretty much identical to the 33 except that the wheelhouse was enclosed and lengthened and I believe became a wheelhouse/ saloon.
There was one at Shamrock Quay up to last year called Silver Birch.

I would imagine the maintenance would be very much the same as the 33 and any boat of that age.
