Birchwood 22

Hi Guys
I'm looking at a 22 with a shaft drive diesel
I wonder if anyone knows if the shaft driven boats can take to ground or do the prop and rudder come down past the keel?
From the very few pics I have seen on the interweb it seems the rudder comes down further than the hull but it's hard to tell in the picture I have found,
also does anyone know what kind of speed I will get, all the advert says is it's got a WaterMota SeaPanther Diesel Engine on shaft, which I have never heard of! any good?? thanks all

I have a birchwood 25, and whilst I can't help with whether she will take the ground, I do have a watermota sea panther.
She is not a boat you will buy for speed! Probably 8-10 knots max. On the plus side service parts are very cheap as derived from an old ford car engine and it is extremely economical. Smokes a bit, but never seen an older diesel that doesn't..........
