Yes, amazing he got it down in that exact spot without hitting anything solid. When I came round from East Looe yesterday there was a police jetski directing boats out into the channel and the chain ferry was stationery on the Studland side Slack low water and light winds and no nutty jetskis rushing around.

I'm slightly concerned that nobody has complimented the pilot on avoiding the school, the hospital and the Eel Grass.
Seems like a good time to reserve judgement and wait for the enquiry.
(I seem to remember the pilot and master of the Hoegh Osaka being praised to the rafters for safely beaching the ship clear of the channel. It later transpired that they had no control of the vessel and the result was down to blind luck.)
