Hi - I'm looking to upgrade my budget 10 x 50 binocs for something waterproof and sharper (without breaking the bank), but I'm having trouble finding a pair with the same visual characteristics. They're Opticron Adventurer model with 6.6 degree field of view, and the ocular lenses are large, about 25mm. Most comparable binocs seem to have smaller ocular lenses and a smaller practical field of view. Any ideas please?

Thanks earlybird. As your linked article says, for some reason binoc makers don't always specify the size of the ocular lens. Yesterday I tried 6 pairs of better quality binocs from an excellent specialist shop . Despite all being more expensive and better quality, and several being sharper, none had the field of view of this cheap pair I have. What that means in practice is a wider field of view - I don't know why. If I'm looking to focus on say a buoy in a channel near a couple of other boats, I can find it more easily because I have more reference points in view to relate it to. I'll have a look at some of the binocs in the link above, some may be suitable.
