Hello all,
My merry fisher 755 is taking on fresh bilge water . It appears to be coming from the section under the fuel tank and then moving forward to where the bilge pump is situated in the next section heading forward.
I have drained the fresh water tank just to eliminate this and still the problem persists. It only happens after it has rained, making me believe that it is rain water !!
Bolero is a 2012 model with an outboard engine.
Has anybody come across this before and how was it fixed?
All help appreciated .

There are so many ways rainwater con find its way into the bilge that it's gonna be difficult to find. Start with deck fittings, deck hatches and cockpit drains. Ideally you want someone to spray the boat with a hose while you get in and under these areas. If there is a lot if rainwater in the bilge the leak should be easy to spot once you are looking at it

I have the same problem with my MF645. The water in the rear bilge always seems to be there, and never gets any deeper than approx 25mm at it's deepest. The bilge floor slopes towards the pump, so the actual area of water is only around 150 x 150mm. I've sponged it out on a number of occasions and it always returns after I've rinsed the boat off, which I do after every trip.

I've stopped worrying about it as it doesn't get anywhere deep enough to need the bilge pump.

I've a 755 and had an issue in water in the stern bilge (similar to Sprocker). Mine was coming from two sources. The first was the seal at the shower head section of the transom shower, when the pump was on, which just needed a fresh washer. The second was the 'water tight' inspection hatch behind the engine in the transom area ŵhere the fuel shut off is. This was 'fixed' temporarily by sealant in the hatch but the longer term solution is the closed type of inspection hatches that the late 2016 755's and new 695/795s have.
I'm not sure that this helps NDB but when I spoke to the dealer when I noticed my leak, and before the found a solution, they mentioned that on one or two occasion they had water coming in through the rubbing strip along the boat where rain / hosing as getting behind the black rubbing strip and through the screw holes that had not been properly sealed at the factory.
Hope this helps and for what it's worth I'm now sorted and have been dry all winter despite horrendous driving rain.

Many thanks for the replies, she is going on for a bow thruster and extended swim platforms next week so I will pass this info on to the dealer, as she is still under warranty !

I presume she is out of water..... if however she is in salt water try to taste the bilge water. Then at least you know if it is rain water or salt water.... good to know before you start to search for possible entry spots :-)
