Having spent a fruitless afternoon trying to fit what I now know is a 1" hose onto a 1 1/8" bilge pump outlet, I wonder if anybody knows where one can get a converter for these hose sizes. Rule do one but only for 1 1/8" down to 3/4", neither do there appear to be any pumps currently available that have 1" outlets, which would be an alternative solution if a little costly. The other obvious answer would be to replace the whole hose but this would not be easy and I assume would give me the same problem at the other end with the hull outlet. I might add I have tried all the usual dodges with hot water and washing up liquid and the like, but 1/8" seems just to much to try and stretch the hose.

What I've done in the past is warm the pipe up with a hot air gun and then open it up using a couple of levers inside the pipe.

Thanks for the suggestions; unfortunately I don't know a gynecologist, but I'll give it a go with a heat gun, (we just used hot water today), and then if that fails, try the converter from Hyphose.

If you can get a shott , say 6 ins, piece of 1/18 its possuble the orriginal 1 ins will fit snugly into it making a slieve joint.
If not its shoud be fairly simple to make a slieve from suitable plastic or simelar material. Access to a small lath would be handy.
Use a good quality adhesuve sealant on the joint

I know I'm too late, but for the future, I drilled a hole in one of my wooden emergency plugs, cut it in four quarter sections. put a cone on a screw and made an expander for use with a paintstripper hot air gun. Job done.
