bilge pump adhesive and floor covering?

I am fitting the new floorboard to my boat over the next week and wondered what i use to fix the bilge pump to the floor of my boat? Ive seen these syringe epoxy things on ebay, are they suitable?

Also what shall i paint the floorboards with before i lay them? I know its epoxy but theres loadsa different types of epoxy? Is it epoxy resin or is that something different?

blob the pump down with mastic ( if it needs fixing)
