that's a simple one!

original (70ies) layout saws that bilge pumps were drawing 24V from the main el.panel, AFTER the main switch, and THROUGH a fuse.
Now, my osculati controllers for the three auto bilge pumps have integrated fuses, indicator leds and are fully containted.
However, I still need to draw the +24V from somewhere.
I don't think it's a good idea to pick that AFTER the main switch and through yet another fuse.
I can easily skip the fuse but, but should I also get it straight from the panel input before the main rotary switch that kills all 24V in the boat?

Further, are we talking service batteries, or engine start 24V?

ATM, only engines and windlass are on the engine start batteries.
Looks like the bow thruster will also be hooked there.

cheers

V.

I'd wire the bilge pumps before the main switch with their own breaker\fuse so you can isolate them but not easily turn them off. Battery choice probably go to the biggest bank.

On Blue Angel there is a separate breaker on the electric panel, connected PRE mains switch, on the domestic battery bank,

On the Karnic it is a separate wire, taken straight from the battery terminal, with a individual fuse, near the battery connection
