Supposedly biodegradable, doesn't kill dolphins, makes the buyer feel good, and makes the manufacturers a lot more money.
You still end up tipping your engine oil drips and other general bilge crud into the sea though, if you don't carefully sponge it all up and place said bucket of crud into a properly licenced receptacle at the local dump.

If you mean Bilgex, I found it worked a treat on a previous boat - much better than any detergent.
