In a strong blow I actually find it easier to raise and lower main (lazyjacks) than genoa which requires a lot of pulling power to re-furl when fully out with pressure on it. Also, once under way, the main is more stable (supported by mast and boom with preventer on) whereas in a swell genny can easily start to rock around requiring whisker pole to calm down - not fun. Also, under heavy load mainsheet easier to handle than jib sheets on winches.
But granted, balance isn't perfect and you're more likely to broach under main than jib.
