Big freeze sinks or ruins many yachts

Well, I had a couple of cold nights, but a short potter up the Straits was lovely. I even managed a photo opportunity with the Club's rowing section who were out training (pic 1). And bumped into Kwaka & Sagiat (a new member of the N Wales Mafia).

Pic 2 shows my new spray hood from Mouse sails - Nice job Roger, thanks. Nice place to sit while Wheelpilot takes the strain. & Thanks to Moody Nick for that frame - it fits a treat & my old one covers the aft cabin with a zip out cover between the two for a complete cockpit enclosure.

Incidentally, I will be putting the over boom cover up for sale soon if any one wants one for a Renown/ Pentland/ Longbow or Berwick - or similar sized boat.

Pretty alarmist rubbish IMO.... the real risk is for yachts not in the water... Sea temperatures right now around the UK are around 5 to 9'c..... if your boat is in the water
you dont have much to worry about....

About as accurate as the recent report about President Obama supposedly putting down the USA boating industry when all he actually said was it doesn't make sense to buy a boat if you can't afford to pay your house mortgage.
Do they actually read some of the drivel they write?
