Big exclusion zone for Cowes fireworks

I've been for the fireworks a couple of times, anchoring either just outside the dayboat moorings or round towards Gurnard; not been for the last couple of years but I don't remember this exclusion zone in the past. Presumably it's a reaction to recent airshow accidents.

Going to throw a few people for a loop if it's new this year.

Yes, that's right. I meant "the Cowes fireworks" as a reference to the event as a whole. Nobody talks about "the end of Cowes Week air-display".

As an academic I would like to say how much I appreciate the use of "academic" to mean "of no practical importance".
