Following the budget Defra are bragging that £140million of planned £2.3billion spend on 6 year flood defence programme is being invested earlier than planned - big deal.
Its such a minuscule percentage of the total I can't even work it out ! About 6% - I think.... can someone confirm my arithmetic is right?
Mind you, that would be more than enough to manage the non-tidal Thames for at least ten years !
