Anyone's on here? Caused a massive tailback. Big thing that took up both lanes. I was lucky to be near the front of the tailback and nipped by once we reached the M4 section but many hundreds more were not so fortunate as it trundled further north presumably to pick up the M40

Not guilty this time Gary, but Rafiki followed the A34 up to the M4 last year.

This thing carried on past the M4 too. Really felt for those stuck behind it as only a dozen or so cars managed to drive by it whilst there were 3 lanes at that section. Once passed it would be two lanes only all the way up to the M40 with this boat taking up both lanes

Did you see what the boat was Gary?

I wonder if that was the same one causing chaos on the northbound M3 yesterday. Saw it way ahead with a queue of HGVs trying to get past so nipped off onto the A31 instead. Even from a distance it was huge.

Should be moved during the night to inconvenience a lot less people. Roads are busy enough without this sort of thoughtless and selfish activity.

For some reason the rules require it is done by day only. When my boats have been moved road-hoggingly on the A14 it took 2 days and they had to stop and park before it got dark - picture below is A14, a busy dual carriageway to Ipswich and the truck has to use outside lane to get clearance under arched bridge. I find this very strange and wonder why they don't move them at night and stop movements during the day

The "selfish" comment is, one might argue, a bit harsh in many cases.
