big boat cabins

hum

Another pointless thread

If you see it that way, ok. your choice.

There has been much descustion about

more cabins less social space.

more social space less cabin.

less cabins but bigger.

I was asking in a fun hopefully way , what you thought of the trend of a big master cabin were possible.

As threads always drift it,

would have some useful stuff on it.

but if you don't think so,

as I say that's your choice.

well i like em julie they make a lot of sense putin the nmain cabin in the full width of the boat, but then what do I know its late and i'm pi**ed 1 hour later in spain

when you see some of the main cabins on some of these big boats, what do you think of.

Lets say you have 3 words to use for this.

On a boat under say 60 feet I'd say "waste of space" but that's just my personal view. On a boat big enough, say 65foot plus, I'd say "yum yum yum" (or "get yer kit off" if you'd allow me 4 words :) )

I would prefer 2 small cabins, in stead of one huge cabin,

the fun you would have with your partner, or mistress, or... in such a big cabin doens't last that long,

I would rather prefer a few more family or friends sleeping on board,
sharing evenings together on the boat, are usually memorable moments
imho

Never understood why it is very rare to find a 2 small cabin option in stead of one big cabin on many modern boats.

sorry, used a few more words then 4 :)

"Waste of space"

I only need somewhere big enough to have a kip, would rather the space be used for the social areas of the boat. Bigger galley, but most importantly as much of the space as possible used for sitting around, eating, drinking and being merry :D

Yup, imho you and BartW have priorities right: social areas and enough cabins/beds to sleep friends/family/party come first, and only then should you consider making the cabins bigger.

But boatbuilders all say the market in general wants that centre owners cabin, even on 48 footers...

ok

Thanks for most of the reply s, even the funny ones.

So if you want more cabins, which I think some of the boat lack,

choises.

Do you go for bunk beds with some more storage, ever noticed they tend to lack storage

or

twins that can be slid together to make a double if needed. again with storage.

there are so many places they could put storage and they don't.

We bought ours as it had 2 sleeping cabins and most of the people we talk to say that not having to make beds up and put them down again is either why they bought their boat or what they want.

Suppose it depends from there who will be visiting, kids and bunks are fine but couples and it needs a double. slide apart's mean you have beds for the lads on a boys weekend.

Agree with the don't make the bedrooms bigger until you have a boat big enough in all the other areas first.

Open plan all the way for me, the bigger the better:D

Well if i could afford any space would be a start

If we could afford a 42" boat, we would enjoy a substantial master. With our tiny 33 footer, we are grateful that we have 2 permanent double berths, although we would prefer either of them to be bigger. Sorry, a bit more that 3 words, whoops!!
