This subject get covered frequently but as it is dear to our hearts, it doesn't harm to revisit it.

Shakespear 17 with new Suzi 100.

Just got my renewal quote from Haven (HKJ) and they jumped it up from £210 to £347 - and I was mighty angry indeed!!

I phoned Marine Sites (01843 603441) and got a policy underwritten by CGU which covers more events and was £129. Now let me think about this.....

Got a good quote from St Margaret 020 8778 6161 with Navigators 01273 863400 OK as well
I still havent pushed the button so will try Marine Sites

Hi, Ive got a Fairline Holiday insured with Nav and Gen, was paying less than £100 but had a claim for 6K, I had to re-engine and went for a new diesel and the boat value has just been agreed at 18K. Premium went up to £135 - didn't think that was too bad.

Just phoned them cause my insurance is up for renewal. Haven Knox have quoted me £866, Marine sites? quoted £703, this also inlcuded less excess than Haven.

I have been with Haven for over 15 years and not claimed once.

Earlier this year, I broke a flexible coupling which bent the top of the shaft which broke off part of the gearbox housing. No apparent damage to prop'.

I naively thought that even if claim not accepted in whole I might get an ex gratia payment, contributing to cost of repairs. Wrong. Absoloutely nothing.

I don't care what Haven's renewal premium is going to be. I shall not be accepting it.

What are we talking to insure the Leopard?
Praps you could run some kind of competition. You know nearest guess wins a prize. What kind of experience are the insurers looking for? Will you be able to skipper her yourself? Do tell.

PS See Ferrari are testing the repacement of the 456!!!!
