I'm making preperations for a Beta Marine BD1005.
Does anyone know what the end fittings should be on the Morse control cables?
i.e. Does both the throttle and the gearbox have threaded fittings. If so are they 5/32, 1/4 or 5/16?
Are the cables cable clamped or bulkhead clamped?

I Fitted a Beta 10 earlier this year, both the throttle and the gearbox came fitted with the standard morse ball end fittings already in place, all I had to do was to connect standard red morse cables of the right length, the cables use the standard 33C fittings and mine were cable clamped on brackets on the engine and gearbox.
ASAP supplies are a good reference for things like this, I found it difficult to get the right lengths locally, and ASAP delivered overnight.

Have a look at the Beta marine website they have drawings for most of the engines, failing that they are very helpfull if you ring them.

The only problem was working from the Beta drawing (for the 10hp anyway), they had changed the gearbox morse orientation by 90 degrees since the drawing was done, because they changed from Hurth to TMP boxes, but as I waited until the engine was in before obtaining cables etc it was OK.

Engine so far is excellent, very smooth and fuss free.

Hope it helps
