Beta Marine engines issues

Another wizened and influential forumeer has suggested the idea of a sub-forum, or at least a continuing thread, dedicated to those popular propulsion units and their vagaries, ideosyncracies and occasional petulance.

There is a Beta forum in the US. Would others make use of such a facility based here? Welcome it?

I had not noticed that many queries about Beta engines. More about VP engines I would have thought,

A separate forum for inboard engines maybe, but only a very faint maybe. ......... and separate forums for outboard engines, rigging, sails, electrics, electronics, navigation and pilotage, boat building and repairs, corrosion, paint and protective coatings, etc etc etc.

Bearing in mind the close proximity of Quedgley to the majority of forumites and the swift telephone response to any query submitted, I would have thought that the Beta technical team would be a better means of resolving any issues or ideosyncracies. Therefore Nay.

I'd go straight to the manufacturer on any technical question. Post a question on any internet forum and you get 2053 answers to 345 other questions and not the one you posted! Don't ask me how I know.
