I am doing the valve clearances and have tried to use the gaps given .018-0.122 mm. Totally nightmare as the gaps are so small as soon as I tighten locking nut it has moved. Was wondering what other people set their gaps to and how do they have any tips.
Thanks

Hold the screw, slacken the nut with a ring spanner, hold it while tweeking the adjustment screw then hold that while re-tightening the nut. It will end up a bit out at the first attempt probably but you will quickly learn how much to allow while adjusting it.

Obviously never adjusted tappets on your car engines every service interval in the days before they all had OHCs /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You sure about that 0.018mm figure thats too small to measure! Even 0.122mm is as you say small and to three figures is impossible. (0.18 exhaust and 0.12 inlet would have sounded reasoable to me or even 0.018" and 0.012" )
