Based on a Kubota engine, very good industrial engine, also used in the Nanni range of marine engines. Should be very similar - compare specs and prices.
I have one on a Sigma 33- seems very reliable-mine is about 5years old. Beta are very helpful with advice and reliable about returning calls etc. I believe mine was professionally installed somewhere at Woodbridge on the East coast.
Hi, I have a Centaur which had an MD11 which I replaced with a KUBOTA D662 which I marinised myself.
Kubota have a good reputation as a base engine supplier hence if you avoid "Marine Engineers" parts are quite low cost.
Filters & belts are available from Motor Factors eg. oil filter £3.50. "Sailing Today " had a write up on engine spares last month, very interesting.
My Kubota 19 hp is 150kg lighter, smoother running much quieter & I have less vibration than the "green monster" which it replaced.
I fitted one to my Sabre 27 last year. Beta gave good service; the engine is a beauty; quiet, smooth, compact, starts first touch of the button every time. Fitting was quite straightforward but it will of course depend on your particular boat.
