Can't find a workshop manual for the above engine I want to check the valve clearances. This info is not in the owners manual, would appreciate any help thanks.

I'm on my 2nd. Beta, a B25. I've never found a workshop manual on the Beta website. However if you google Kubota series 05 diesel engine workshop manual, you get a PDF which includes the D905 and D1005, which appear to be the base engines for the B25 and the B28 resp.
I've never used this manual in earnest, no need, but it could be helpful.
BTW, the valve clearances are quoted as 0.145 to 0.185 mm. ~ 6 to 7 thou in old money

Do you know what series is the 20 (BD722)?I'm looking for a manual but can't find one.

Look on the Beta website ... their manuals are pretty comprehensive and under the 30 heading they include the 28 ... alternatively, just give Beta a ring ... they'll help you.

To the best of my knowledge no Beta 'Operator Maintenance Manual', whether hard copy or downloaded, gives tappet adjustment figures. They don't even specify a check/ adjustment interval*. But, as you say, they're helpful chaps at the factory and would surely advise by phone or e-mail.

* FWIW, the Kubota manual for my Beta50 specifies 800 hours, 0.18 to 0.22mm.
